Death on the Ranch

Today is a sad day for the ranch.  When Daddy Deere went to let out our ladies they were all dead.  A bobcat had somehow taken off the wire from the top of the chicken house and made his way inside.  There is only one place on the whole chicken house with chicken wire to allow for ventilation and this stupid cat was able to obtain entry.  I will spare you the gruesome details but it was not pretty.  Thirteen beautiful birds are now gone for some stupid cat’s fun.  Two of the ladies were still alive but will not make it.  My father is on his way to come help us with this unpleasant situation.  Our ladies were out pets and they will be missed greatly.  We are going to take this as a learning experience and reinforce the chicken house.  We are also going to move it closer to the house.  It will be hard to sit at work and pretend it is a good day for my clients.  I will miss my girls.
